TNEA(Tamilnadu Engineering Admission) 2017 is a single window counselling conducted by the Anna University on behalf the Government of Tamil Nadu. Previously it conducted entrance exam to provide admission for the candidates but now the admissions are provided by the single window counselling conducted by Anna university in all engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu on the basis of 12th board exam cutoff. The candidates shall apply for TNEA for admissions in the engineering colleges based on the 12th board exam marks. Anna University counselling on behalf of GOT benefits the candidates to study engineering and provides counselling under a single roof.
TNEA paves way for the present 12th standard to apply for the engineering courses in all colleges in Tamil Nadu. The admissions for various courses and colleges are provided based on the 12th board exam score. The basic eligibility to apply is that the candidates must have Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry background. The candidates those who possess this eligibility shall apply. The candidates shall apply for any courses. B.E/B.Tech admissions are different from B.Arch admissions. (Application form and schedule). Students are placed in accordance with the reservation allotted by the government. There are five quotas provided by the government of Tamil Nadu based on which the seats are provided.
Applications forms are yet to be released by the university. The candidates are expected to apply to the counselling through the application forms. Once after the 12th board exam results are out then the scores can be filled in the application form and submitted. The issue date of the application form is not announced yet. Issue date of the application form last date for submitting the application forms and other dates and schedules will be announced later by the university.
